Session Description

How can social enterprises (SEs) best access investment and support to amplify their reach and scale? What are the funding needs of social enterprises at various stages of growth and why are they underserved in Asia? How should SE’s consider grant funding versus impact investments? How can impact funders play a credible role as strategic investors? What is the value of mentorship and how can SE’s access that? What is the role of the government in creating an enabling environment for social business and incentivize investment into it?

In this session, we will hear from a panel of impact investors and enablers who are leveraging their unique areas to support SEs in bridging their funding and skill gaps. Delegates will brainstorm on further strategies through interactive small group discussions aiming to strengthen solutions in common gaps SEs faced including accessing financial resources, accessing mentorship and support, and recommendations for governmental policies.
