Son Ha was born in Viet Nam but grew up in Minnesota, USA. He has been working in refugee context or mixed refugee-emergency context in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and East Africa for over 13 years.
Since 2018, he has been the Programme Coordinator for IOM in Indonesia’s Eastern region, he works closely with city officials and civil society groups in Makassar and Kupang cities to ensure IOM’s programs and activities are being implemented on time and with minimal obstacles.
In addition to implementing activities relating to Building Healthy City in Makassar, IOM is also assisting city officials with the care and handling of refugees. Prior to coming to Makassar, he was administering IOM’s activities in Kigoma and Kasulu, Tanzania. Outside of work he enjoys running and playing basketball whenever his wife and children let him.
