Mr. Emil Tapnio currently serves as Program Director of the Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev) headed by Filipino technology innovator in the Silicon Valley Dado Banatao. He heads the Innovation for Social Impact Partnership project, supported by UNDP and the Australian Government, which aims to boost social enterprises achieve, accelerate, and sustain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With over a decade of experience as a development manager, he developed and managed programs on education, entrepreneurship, innovation, economic reform, local governance, electoral reform, human rights, and disability sector totaling over US$40million in portfolio funding from USAID, US Department of State, UNDP, Australian Government, The Asia Foundation, and various Philippine government agencies. He earned a degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Mr. Tapnio is passionate in championing innovative leadership in the development sector having completed the Professional Fellowship by the US Department of State’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) in Hawaii and Washington DC, USA in June 2018. He was appointed as one of the Global Ambassadors of the International Young Leaders Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in August 2016.
